What is Challenger Coffee | Dark Roast

Single Origin. BUBS Brew was meticulously crafted by selecting the highest quality specialty Fair Trade Organic green coffee beans from the Mexico Chiapas region. Mexican coffee beans have distinct flavors and have really become popular in specialty coffee over the last 5 years. This region is one of our favorites because of the robust flavor, growing climate and traceability. Roasted in Southern California; we developed and mastered the combination of time and temperature to perfection. This process showcases the highest quality Mexican coffees and pays homage to BUBS’ connections to the region. The result is BUBS second coffee, The Challenger - Single Origin. Enjoy!

After BUB got out of the Navy, he deployed worldwide to serve his country. His self-proclaimed most challenging deployment was in Mexico, where telling the bad guys from the good guys kept his head on a swivel. The Challenger - Single Origin is a tribute to that moment in time - a specialty coffee sourced from select growers in Mexico.

Single-Origin Fair Trade Organic coffee beans from the Mexico Chiapas region

This is where it all began. “BUBS” was an adventure seeker. In his 20s, that thrist for adventure took him to the surf of Central America. He met a few off duty Navy SEALs in Costa Rica, and the seed was planted for his journey into serving his country. The Origin Blend is a tribute to that moment in time - a blend of specialty coffee sourced from select growers in Central America.

BUBS Naturals, a way of life. We believe wellness is driven from the inside out. Through the spirit of Glen and a passion for nature’s highest quality and sustainably sourced ingredients, we help fuel people to reach their maximum human potential while giving 10% back to charity. Our mission is simple. FEEL GREAT. DO GOOD.

The BUBS Naturals namesake derives from Glen ‘BUB’ Doherty, who was heroically killed in Benghazi, Libya in 2012. In addition to remembering Glen for the patriot he was, the BUBS ethos centers around the passionate and adventure seeking life that Glen lived.

We do not add any flavorings to our coffee beans. Each growing region has particular flavor notes that are driven by the climate and soil as well as farming practices. Flavor notes are specific descriptors for each roast that our coffee team accentuates through the roast process.

Always use filtered/purified water. Store beans in this resealable bag in a cool and dry location. Grind beans for your preferred brewing method. Below is a guideline for the coffee to water ratio. If you like you coffee stronger or weaker try adding or subtracting Tbs. COARSE GRIND for French Press // Flat Filter // Cold Brew. 1Tbs (5g) of coffee per 4 fluid oz (120mL) water. FINE GRIND ESPRESSO for Cone Filter (pour over) // Espresso. 2Tbs (10g) of coffee per 6 fluid oz (180mL) water.

Tablespoon and measuring cup for the grind-to- water ratios, but we recommend using a digital kitchen scale to measure the ratios in grams. One gram is equal to 1mL.

For optimal freshness, we suggest storing our coffee at room temperature in an airtight container or the original BUBS Brew coffee bags, which are designed with one-way degassing valves and zipper seals to lock in freshness.

The sooner you consume the coffee to roast date, the better for peak freshness. We recommend the coffee be consumed within three months of the roast date.
