On September 11th, 2023, Sean Lake (BUBS Co-Founder) hosted a Live on Instagram to celebrate and remember Glen ‘BUB’ Doherty who was heroically killed in Benghazi, Libya in 2012. Sean emphasized the importance of this day by sharing stories and reminiscing in his memory. He spoke with some of Glen's former teammates, Clint Emerson, a former Navy SEAL and a New York Times bestselling author, and Mike Ritland, another Navy SEAL, bestselling author, and , as well as third veteran Navy SEAL and knife maker, Shane Hiatt.

Glen's influence had a substantial impact in Sean's life and those around him. Each person's story continued to highlight Glen's admirable, and adventurous spirit, exemplified by anecdotes like Glen reading by a Humvee in a large sombrero.

Sean touches on the numerous acquaintances he made purely through chance meetings with Glen. It is evident that Glen's memory was deeply ingrained in the hearts of those who knew him, and his stories and legacy continue to live on.

A few memorable quotes from the conversation:

  • "For me, I've always had a love for Boston ever since I met Glen."

  • "And so as we pull up, there's a f@!#ing Humvee parked under a tree, and then Glen is sitting on his ass leaning up against the tire reading a book with a 10-gallon f@!#ing sombrero hat on."

  • "I remember then with Shane coming down for Glen's wedding down in Mexico and loading up the trucks and just being like, what a f@!#ing eclectic mashup of people; all these ski bums, a bunch of sarcastic Boston guys, and Navy folks all just in a blender."

  • “I don't know what kind of weird Jedi s#!t Glen did, but he managed to laugh and interact with him in a way that the dude was like, ah, man, don't even fucking worry about it."

Thank you to the thousands of you that tuned in to celebrate Glen and his teammates. If you missed it and would like the full listen, tune in here.
